Behind the scenes at Studio

Brand immersion day at Studio

So, I’ve been keeping a little secret for awhile now, but I can finally share with you that for the next six months I’ll be collaborating with to bring you plenty of content to show off their great quality but affordable trend-led products.

To begin my role as a Studio Ambassador, I made my way down to Accrington for a Studio team breakfast meeting at Stanley House & Spa, where I got to meet my fellow Studio ambassadors and find out more about the brand who have been around since 1955!

Breakfast meeting at Stanley House

The rural location and luxury venue for the brand immersion day was stunning, we also got to enjoy a delicious lunch outside in the sunshine. Studio is most commonly known as a catalogue brand, I remember seeing the Christmas catalogue in my Grandparents house as I was a growing up, I would always circle the things that I wanted as a hint to my Nan. The Christmas catalogue is what Studio is traditionally known for, however over the years they’re product offering has grown rapidly so you can now find them on alongside the catalogue.

On you’ll find budget-friendly clothing for all the family, toys, electricals, beauty, gifts & jewellery, garden & outdoor, gaming, sports & leisure and homeware. During the morning briefing, we got to see how Studio has evolved over the years and how they have grown from a mail-order catalogue to a website attracting over 1.6 million loyal customers.

During the interactive presentations and games, what I found most fascinating was finding out about a day in the life of a Studio fashion buyer and the lengthy process that’s involved from trend forecasting, product design, traveling to Europe and Asia to meet suppliers and then getting the physical product to photograph for the website and catalogue, all of which takes 6+ months in advance to do.

Behind the scenes at TIME studios

After lunch, we headed to TIME studios for some behind the scenes action of where Studio do all their in-house product photography and filming. The studio was huge which is understandable considering the vast number of products they sell and have to photograph. We had a sneak peek of the storyboard for their upcoming catalogue and then watched them in the process of bringing the sketches to life.

The team at TIME studios had some serious flatlay, photography and editing skills going on, it was fun to watch. Especially the photo shoots with the models who made working the camera look so effortless. After a tour of the studio, we relaxed on set of one of their homeware shoots, everything from the furniture, lighting and mirrors are seriously going on my wish list, the room was super stylish and looked & felt like premium quality yet it’s all available at a fraction of the price of what you would pay on the high street.

So, I’m definitely going to be furnishing my new bedroom with Studio’s homeware, because why would I pay more to purchase high street products when I can find pretty much identical products on the Studio website.

trend-led fashion & bedding at Studio

During our visit to the studio, we also had a sneak peek at some of the stylish bedding they have launching for Autumn & Winter 2018, there were some beautifully textured grey duvet covers I’ll be purchasing for my new bedroom as well as some lovely subtle embellished covers. But, for those who love colourful, sparkly things, mermaids, pugs and unicorns you’re in for a real treat with some show-stopping pieces that are likely to be popular this Christmas.

Studio fashion picked by the stylists

The lovely team at Studio surprised all of us with personalised gifts and the fashion stylists picked out some items for us to take home based on our individual style. I was matched to a Pearl distressed Denim Jacket (£19.99) – I pretty much live in denim jackets throughout the summer so the stylists were bang on. During warm summer nights I love wearing cute floral printed camisole sets (2 pack for £14.99), so these will be perfect to take away with me on holiday soon. I was also gifted these embellished floral sliders (£12.99), there really comfortable as they mould to your feet and finally I think we were all super chuffed to receive a personalised Ladies Supersoft Robe (£9.99), I soon put it on when I got back home after a long day of travelling.

Personalised gifts at Studio

Gift personalisation is a service Studio are well known for, so as well as the personalised dressing gown they kindly personalised some stationary and a coffee mug for us. The best thing about it is the personalisation service is free and doesn’t add any time to your delivery since they do it all in-house.

I’m looking forward to sharing my favourite Studio pieces I’ve picked out so stay tuned for my next Studio post. But for now, head over to my Facebook page to see more photos from the day or visit my Instagram highlights to see my stories.
