Luxury 4 star London Hotel with Rooftop Terrace

From rich culture and history to boasting some of the world's most renowned attractions. London is a hotspot for tourism and a popular spot for a getaway. So, there's no shortage of hotels in London to accommodate this. The H10 London Waterloo Hotel is perhaps one of the best of many accommodation hotels in the big city, located right on London's infamous Waterloo Road.

I experienced a 2-night stay at this 4-star luxury hotel in November 2019. The stay was partially gifted to me by Buyagift who kindly gave me credit to choose any gift experience I wanted from their huge collection.

I’m always craving a short break somewhere, so I choose their Two Night Escape at H10 London Waterloo package. Alternatively, they have a one-night luxury stay at H10 London too.

If you're keen to do some sightseeing, the hotel couldn't be more conveniently located to access London's most iconic landmarks. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the city, the hotel is 5 minutes from one of the essential transport links Waterloo Train Station, giving you the ability to travel all around the city, as well as being around a half an hour walk from the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and Trafalgar Square.

The hotel is the perfect base for experiencing the best attractions in London via the tube, bus or simply walking. You’ll find lots to keep you entertained, such as taking in views from The Shard and enjoying Afternoon Tea in London. And, if the weather is dry with blue skies a Thames River cruise or London Helicopter ride may just complete the ultimate sightseeing trip in London.

Have a read of my H10 London Waterloo review and watch the video at the end to see if this four-star hotel in London is somewhere you'd like to stay when planning a citybreak in the capital.

All the 177 rooms at this twelve story hotel are designed to give you the ultimate luxury experience, evoking a stylish and contemporary feel as soon as you step in the door. We were greeted with a spacious room complete with sophisticated décor with floor to ceiling windows, baroque monochrome wallpaper and frames displaying artwork.

Our home for two nights was in room 1002 a Deluxe Double Room on the 10th floor with corner city views. A beautiful king size bed sat in the centre of the room, with crisp, clean sheets making for an ever-so comfortable night's sleep after a busy day sightseeing in London.

The room boasted panoramic views of the city, allowing us to wake up to London's sensational skyline as the sun was beginning to rise of a morning. The room came with a variety of facilities, including a flat-screen TV, plenty of storage space, a desk perfect if you need to complete work during your stay, complimentary Wi-Fi and even a tempting mini-bar.

We particularly loved the cosy armchair and coffee table beside the window with the addition of a magazine to read while checking out the city skyline view. And of course, the coffee machine is always a welcoming sight to see in any hotel room.

The stylish and modern feel of the bedroom continued into the en-suite bathroom. The off-white tiling emphasised the overall spotless quality of the bathroom, with a spacious walk-in waterfall shower.

Included in the stay, we were able to help ourselves to a whole host of toiletries, from sample size shampoos, conditioners, body washes and soaps plus cotton buds and a toothbrush.

The well-lit mirror in the bathroom was of a decent size, meaning getting ready for a morning was a breeze and the perfect selfie lighting made getting ready for a night out in London helpful too as well as the full-length mirror in the bedroom.

You don’t often get fresh plants in hotel rooms, especially in chain hotels so it was a nice touch to see a lucky bamboo stem in the bathroom besides the mirror. With so much natural light coming into this corner room with its floor to ceiling windows it would have been lovely to have seen a plant on the circular coffee table too.

But of course, that just adds to the list of many things for the hotel to maintain so I understand why I’m just plant obsessed.

After a great night's sleep, we headed down early in the morning for breakfast to fill up ready for the day sightseeing in London. The breakfast buffet is served from 7 am till 10 am at the Three O Two restaurant on the first floor of the hotel.

The breakfast menu has dishes that cater to all and whatever you may fancy, from warm and cold plates to desserts, as well as a large selection of fresh juices and hot drinks.

At H10 London Waterloo, you won’t find your usual breakfast buffet selection of hot and cold continental items. You’ll find them and a whole lot more. Cookies, brownies, and vegetable spring rolls are just a handful of the many things I ate for breakfast each morning. And I certainly wasn’t complaining.

To go alongside my desserts and spring rolls I enjoyed a vegetarian English breakfast too consisting of baked beans, tomato, hash browns and veggie sausages. All this filled me up ready for the jam-packed day ahead.

Perhaps one of our many favourite features of the hotel, the rooftop terrace and restaurant provides sensational views of London from above that can't be missed, especially of a night as the city is lit up. Capture photos of the London Eye, among several other iconic landmarks from the top of the terrace.

The Sky Bar on the 8th floor allows you to order from a range of classic and contemporary cocktails, as well as a tapas menu to be enjoyed while overlooking the beautiful views of the city from the many alfresco seats and tables dotted around the decked terraced that is also filled with lots of lush green plants. Making enjoying the views of the concrete jungle that much sweeter.

We visited in Winter so, of course, we weren’t on the balcony for long, but I imagine in Spring – Summer the views and food & drink culinary experiences to be had on this terrace would be fantastic.

To conclude

So, there we go, a review of my unforgettable experience at this luxury hotel in London. I'd book to stay at H10 London Waterloo again. Especially to take advantage of the rooftop and its convenient location, stylish and modern rooms, and plenty of amenities, what's not to love? If you're searching for a short break in London, I’d recommend staying here.
