The Natasha Lingerie Set

There was a time long ago myself and friends were obsessed with Pretty Polly tights, in our punk days we would wear leopard print, hearts, stripes and stars you name it, we wore it. As time went on and I grew out of my old grungy style I started to wear jeans more, go tight-less during the summer or wear plain tights during autumn/winter. Since then I hadn’t really clapped eyes on Pretty Polly, however recently they got in touch with me to pick out a few complimentary pieces from their new A/W17 collection and I was pleasantly surprised to see how the brand I once adored has evolved and are now selling gorgeous lingerie sets, shapewear and an impressive range of tights including body toners and tights for girls with curves.

The first thing that caught my eye when visiting their website, was this beautiful Pretty Polly Natasha set featured on their homepage. The set is black with feather-style lace which gives it that timeless art deco look. The bra and Brazilian knickers have a silky microfiber finish, so it feels lovely and soft against the skin. What I love most about this Natasha set is the sexy lace detail on the back of the knickers, the V shape and curved trims of the lace makes these Brazilian style knickers ultra-feminine and flattering on the derriere.

They have been made well too and are high quality, they still look great after wearing/washing them twice.

The Tessa Bralette

This little sporty number is called the Tessa bralette, its non-wired and is made from nylon. This did also come with matching boxer style pants that were sadly out of stock when I came to order. This bra is also ridiculously comfortable as its soft and has an elastic band and no wire so is perfect for those casual days or even working out in. This is a 34B and does fit me better in comparison to the Natasha bra – as my side boob does hang out a little, so I would recommend checking out the size guide and measure your bust as I’ve said previously on the blog it’s so important that you wear a properly fitted bra.

Secret socks tights & Aristoo bodytoners

Pretty Polly are well known for their extensive range of tights, in fact the one and only Beyoncé ordered 150 ‘Secret Socks’ tights for herself and her dancers when she performed at the Super Bowl half time show. Obviously, if their good enough for Beyoncé - I had to get my hands on them too. I totally see why Beyoncé picked the Secret Tights, they are super stylish and flattering, I’ve tried these on but have not yet worn them out. I’m in the process of stocking up my A/W17 wardrobe and can totally see myself wearing these often, when I do I’m sure you’ll see it in an Instagram post.

Who else purchases tights in the next size up so they can wear them high up to try and suck in that gut? Well I’m not sure about you, but my sister and I do. So, when I spotted these Aristoo Bodytoners that tone and curve your waist, tum, bum & thighs to create an hourglass shape to suck in those lumps and bumps, I obviously had to give them a go. I’ve worn shapewear a few times in the past and have found them to be terribly uncomfortable and irritating - so much so that I just won’t wear them.

However, these do define your body shape but in a gentle way so they don’t feel like they are cutting off your circulation. The fact that they are bodyshapers and tights in one is great and I can’t wait to wear them at the end of the month for an exclusive fashion show I’m attending.

Pretty Polly are an iconic British brand who have been manufacturing hosiery and lingerie in the UK (in Derbyshire, not too far from me) since the 1980’s so I’m proud to be supporting them and will definitely be keeping my eyes on their online store when I’m next on the lookout for more underwear and tights.
