Mad O'Rourkes Pie Factory - Tipton

A historic pub, delicious pies and fascinating decor at Mad O'Rourkes Pie Factory in the West Midlands

To celebrate Easter me and the family decided to go to Mad O'Rourkes Pie Factory in Tipton, its a place I had never heard of before but my dad had been years ago. The place has a really fascinating history and as you can see from the photos, it's not your average boozer. It's full of character, with sawdust on the floor, old pie making machinery, random things hanging from the ceiling and ceramic old fashioned tiles.

We arrived not long after it opened which was good so I could snap these photos, because when we left it was full. The boozer/restaurant has a legendary pie menu plus many other options if your not much of a pie lover. The food is all cooked from fresh so its takes awhile to come out (20/30mins), which I had no complaints about as there were plenty of crazy old interior things to look around at to keep me occupied and it was nice to know the delicious pie I had was being made by hand and not just thrown into the microwave.

I had a Peri Peri pie with amazing crunchy chip shop style chips, the pie was lovely and spicy with large chunks of chicken and peppers it was perfect. Definitely recommend visiting this place if you are local, or even giving its history a read.
