So, through my own experiences with testing products in this market, I’ve been able to compile a list of what I believe are the best body care beauty brands that create great products and are also cruelty-free and vegan. But please follow up with your research before buying as manufacturing procedures and product ingredients change all the time.

Holland & Barrett is a major wellness company that prides itself on its sustainability, with every product being made cruelty-free and in 100% recyclable packaging – with these environmental practices being present within the Clean Me range.

Clean Me is affordable, with their 300ml body wash up for grabs at just £2.50, showing just how accessible clean beauty is. Like Faith in Nature, Clean Me’s products are worth their value for money, with an unbelievable 5 litres of the all-natural yet effective product being available for £40, coming in large recyclable and re-usable containers that can last you and the family months, reducing the need for single-use plastics.

16. Westlab

I’ve been sprinkling Westlab salts in my bath for years, but as I don’t get time to relax in the bath as often as I like, benefiting from the pure mineral Himalayan salts in the form of a shower gel is the next best thing for a busy lifestyle.

17. Revolution Skincare

If you're a big makeup user, you might be familiar with the brand Revolution. Producing effective yet affordable cosmetic products, this company also creates remarkable skincare products that are proven to reap results.

Producing 100% cruelty-free skincare products, with most of their products being vegan too, and utilising kind-to-skin ingredients. This brand is comparable to other renowned skincare brands on the market today such as The Ordinary, like them Revolution Skincare create high-quality products that will level up your skincare regimen at a more affordable price.

A favourite body care product I use from the brand is the Revolution Body Skincare Salicylic (Balancing) Body Blemish Cleanser which retails for £6. As it contains Salicylic Acid it is perfect for those dealing with breakouts or suffering from acne-prone skin especially ‘bacne’ on the back and shoulders as I have occasionally.

To be used anywhere on the body, this Revolution Skincare product utilises the benefits of salicylic acid to remove the build-up of breakout-causing sebum on the surface of the skin and scrub away dead skin cells.

Also infused with nourishing and hydrating glycerin and almond oil, your skin will be left feeling rejuvenated and replenished and in time with continued use, you’ll start to see improvements if you have acne skin on the body.

Initially creating pure castile soap in the 20th century, the company has expanded to make an expansive range of natural yet incredibly effective multi-tasking products, sealing its reputation amongst competitors with a product that is gentle enough to be used on the face, body, and hair as well as being used in many ways to clean the home.

A favourite of mine is the Dr Bronner’s Lavender Pure-Castile Liquid Soap. A bestselling, vegan product within this brand's naturally scented and infused plant oil range. Utilising their tried and tested traditional castile soap solution – passed down through the generations of the company – this product is sure to be safe and gentle on even the most sensitive of skin types.

With pure lavender extract and oils in the formulation also, the skin will be soothed, and nourished, with any inflammation reduced. Boasting such an array of cruelty-free, organic, and vegan soap you can trust this company to deliver on its promises. All the soaps are 100% vegan, but the small selection of lip products etc contain beeswax – so be aware of that.

Retailing from approx. £9 for 237ml and available in bottles up to 3.7 litres this multi-use product available in many natural oils and scents can undoubtedly help you replace your shampoo, face wash, body wash, washing up liquid and other household cleaning products for a more gentle and natural alternative.

Dr Bronner’s was a brand I discovered when searching for natural and toxic-free ways to get rid of gnats and flies that can become a pest if you have a lot of houseplants like I do – as you can see in my how to grow houseplants post. After diluting a few drops of castile liquid soap into water and spraying it on my plants the flying pests have yet to come back. So, it’s a product I wish I had known about sooner!

19. Baylis & Harding

A popular bath, body, and hand care brand, you may recognise the name of is Baylis & Harding. Producing luxurious yet affordable products, this company has become a staple in the gifting game – who’s not received a Baylis & Harding set at Christmas?

Established in England in the 1970s. The brand promises to remain sustainable, and cruelty-free, and use mostly natural ingredients. Besides one handwash containing honey, they are almost completely vegan with a lot of their products registered with The Vegan Society.

Among Baylis & Harding’s expansive range of popular products is the vegan Goodness Rose & Geranium Bath Soak. Formulated with organic extracts of rosemary and lavender, proven to promote rejuvenated, healthier skin, fight against breakouts and reduce inflammation, this bath soak works hard to gently tackle any skin concerns.
