Luxury Spa Day Hotel in Birmingham with a Jacuzzi Hot Tub
After a stressful few weeks of exams, I had the opportunity to celebrate the completion of my second year of university at Resorts World Birmingham, as the PR team kindly gifted us with an exciting full day of experiences. So, my partner and I had a fantastic time, enjoying a film at the IMAX cinema, indulging in South American cuisine at Las Iguanas, and staying overnight at the opulent Genting Hotel, which is a highly-rated luxury hotel in Birmingham.
However, before indulging in the festivities, I started my Saturday morning by checking into Santai Spa to experience their Nature's Haven Spa Day package. The women at reception were incredibly welcoming and provided me with a robe and a locker key so that I could prepare myself to enjoy the spa facilities before receiving my 55-minute treatment later that afternoon.

First on the agenda were the heated lounges, which were a godsend for my consistent back pain. The lounges were incredibly comfortable, and the heat felt wonderful on my back while I enjoyed the ambient music and the beautiful view of the lake. When I managed to tear myself away from the lounges, I decided to try the sauna, which is known to help flush out toxins through sweat, strengthen the immune system, and even claim to burn up to 500 calories in just 20 minutes. If only I could have access to a sauna every day without having to exercise.
One of the facilities I was excited to try out most at Resorts World Birmingham was the Santai Spa's salt cave, which I had never experienced before. Salt caves are known to have various benefits, including treating skin conditions and respiratory problems. Other facilities at Santai Spa include an outdoor hot tub, experience showers, and a 15-metre pool. Of all the facilities, relaxing in the bubbling warm waters of the hot tub was my favourite part, especially since it is covered but still outdoors, allowing it to be enjoyed any time of year.

I've visited a hot tub showroom previously as I dream of having one myself when I eventually have the tropical-inspired garden of my dreams. It would be the perfect at-home escape to enjoy with friends and family. But for now, soaking in the fantastic hot tub at the resort overlooking the lake and surrounding greenery will certainly do.
When it was time for my salon treatments, Ania, my beauty therapist, came to collect me and made sure I was comfortable and warm before starting the Lava shell back massage. Ania immediately asked if I spent a lot of time on the computer, as she could tell from the trapped muscle tension. Her knowledge of muscle tension was impressive, and the massage was incredible; I almost fell asleep and was disappointed when it was over.
When lava shells are heated, they help to smooth away knots and release calcium ions that help to firm and regenerate the skin.

On the day of my visit, I was experiencing a breakout, so I wasn't looking forward to having a facial. However, Ania made me feel comfortable and gave me plenty of at-home skincare tips throughout the treatment to help reduce my spots. She started by using the Dermaclear range to cleanse my face and remove all traces of makeup and dirt. She then assessed my skin and used products suitable for my skin type. After applying a Dermaclear exfoliator, mask, and serum, I was given 20 minutes of LED light treatment while Ania gave me a relaxing head massage.
LED light treatment uses four UV-free colours of light that help to treat acne, and rosacea, and boost collagen production. The next morning, I noticed a notable difference in my skin; my spots had dried up, and by Tuesday, they had disappeared entirely. My skin was now a little softer, clearer, and brighter, so I would go back to have it done again to reap the most beauty benefits.
My spa day experience in Birmingham concluded at the spa's bar, where I was treated to complimentary lemon water and a lovely bowl of lemon sorbet, which was an unexpected but thoughtful touch to end such a relaxing few hours at the luxurious spa in the West Midlands.
