The Birmingham hotel I’ve experienced the best sunset and sunrise from is Hotel Indigo located in The Cube building on Wharfside street. Next to the Mailbox this IHG hotel is a four-star and has unique interior design features that mirror The Cubes iconic exterior.

Hotel Indigo, now known as the Cube Hotel has floor to ceiling windows providing the perfect view of the city. Perfect to watch the hustle and bustle of city life pass by from the comfort of a luxury room containing all the amenities you could need for a short staycation. Plus, there’s a spa for seeking relaxation after shopping in Birmingham. As well as a gym if you can’t be without a cardio session.

Inside The Cube, you’ll find Marco Pierre White Steakhouse on the 25th floor offering 360-degree views of the city. It offers one of the top-rated places in Birmingham for afternoon tea. Where you can enjoy Champagne and high tea for two with a view. This experience can be booked via Buyagift or Red Letter Days for less than £60.

There are four other restaurants located within The Cube. So, you won’t have to stroll far from your hotel room to enjoy delicious food and drink. It used to be home to my favourite Italian restaurant, Osteria Rodizio Rico. But their sister restaurant offering South American cuisine remains to provide a fine dining experience.

2. Holiday Inn Express Birmingham City Centre

Another IHG hotel is the Holiday Inn Express Birmingham. Perfectly located within the city centre on Holliday Street within walking distance of Colmore Row. As a modern 2-star hotel it offers great views of the city’s skyline for a budget price.

I’ve stayed here a few times when I had to be up early for university exams. I’d always be in rooms facing the iconic BT Tower which looked lovely in the evenings.

Free breakfast and Wi-Fi are included in every booking. Making the hotel a great choice if you need a central base without spending too much so that you can experience everything else Birmingham has to offer.

3. Hyatt Regency Hotel

A four star hotel I had the privilege to visit is the Hyatt Regency Hotel. Where I enjoyed the full Hyatt experience with an overnight stay, afternoon tea, breakfast, and spa day.

Within walking distance of the Library of Birmingham. The Hyatt offers a luxury high tea, British cuisine and a fantastic breakfast offering pretty much anything you want. Such as pancakes and a vegan platter in their botanical themed Aria Restaurant.

With floor to ceiling windows, you can overlook the city while peacefully reading a selection of magazines provided. Or escape to the Amala Spa for a dip in the pool or a relaxing beauty treatment and a squatting session in the well-equipped gym.

4. Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham

Formerly known as Jurys Inn, the hotel is now home to the Leonardo Royal Hotel Birmingham.

A short walk from the Hyatt Located on lively Broad street is the 4-star Jurys Inn Birmingham. Inside you’ll find a stylish restaurant, bar, and Costa Coffee shop.

Our Executive room overlooked the iconic canal paths lined with picturesque barges and bridges. The rooms are spacious, and they have all the amenities you’ll need for an overnight stay at Jurys Inn. Including free WiFi which I found worked well.

So, it’s perfect if your visiting for business. Plus, if you need to drive into the city there are 200 parking spaces onsite.

5. Radisson Blu

A hotel I’ve sadly not stayed at yet but have had the pleasure to have a sneak peek of the new refurbishment during an evening event. Is the stylish Radisson Blu Birmingham. Where I also enjoyed a Radisson three-course dining experience at their Collage Restaurant. It’s also home to one of the trendiest cocktail bars in Birmingham offering views of the city.

The 39-storey glass structure standing proud amongst Birmingham’s skyline has floor-to-ceiling windows with city views and contemporary rooms with all the amenities you’ll need for a pleasant stay. Including a TV with mirror casting, a magnifying mirror, a professional hairdryer and of course, free WiFi.

6. Park Regis Birmingham

Another hotel that’s on my bucket list is Park Regis Birmingham. I’ve visited several times for press events. Such as a Japanese afternoon tea experience on the 16th floor at Rofuto and cocktails on the terrace at 1565 Restaurant & Bar.

Although I’ve not yet stayed in this luxury 4-star hotel. I can highly recommend the views that can be seen. As you’ll see how green this side of the city looks from above. Especially from the windows facing Edgbaston village.

To conclude

So, there you go. Just a few of the fantastic places to stay in Birmingham that have great views of the city’s skyline. I’ll be updating this list whenever I visit hotels that are worthy of a recommendation.
