Everyday makeup - Drugstore Edition
What's in my Makeup Bag
These are just a few of my everyday make up items that I apply when I am looking for a natural everyday look on a casual day, when I don't need a heavy full coverage look. I have a few make up bags that I have organised into light, medium and full coverage for different occasions. My light coverage make up bag consists of all affordable drugstore brands.
clinique cc cream
Firstly, the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour gives me SPF 30 protection, which is important because even if the sun isn't strong it can still be damaging to your skin by drying it out and prematurely ageing your skin. So I always make sure I buy beauty products that have SPF protection, this cream gives a tint of colour to your skin to enhance your skins natural radiance, so it works like a tinted moisturiser and you can pick what colour you need to match your skin tone.
The Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer is one of my favourite concealers I take it with me in my handbag, it covers up my dark circles really well and any blemishes I have by providing a medium coverage. The concealer contains fruit for a healthy natural glow, apricot for radiance, raspberry for mico-circulation and melon for hydration. As its a medium coverage concealer sometimes if I am just popping out for a short while I will simply just use this concealer to give me coverage to hide my imperfections but still giving me a natural look.
Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation gives a dewy skin look and is easily bendable, it comes out like a mousse but blends like a liquid. It claims to give a 100% pore-less air brush finish, which I believe it would do if you have perfect skin with no imperfections, but if you have blemish prone skin it doesn't give you enough coverage. But when my skin is clear and having a good week then this foundation works really well for me because its light and doesn't feel like its clogging my pores, but if I am having a break out then I tend not to use this foundation and I choose a full coverage foundation instead.
If you have oily-blemish prone skin, see my before and after Environ results to adopt a new life changing skincare regime!
I am really picky when it comes to picking out a mascara as I like to look at the wand first before I buy it, I like the wand to be a full brush that can lift up the lashes from the root and comb each lash without leaving clumps of mascara on my lashes. I use Bourjois Beauty Full Volume Mascara because its gives a full black look and hides my light lashes well and gives them volume. As I have sensitive skin and eyes this mascara doesn't affect me as it contains Vitamins B5 and E so its more gentle compared to others.
collection eyebrow kit
I've been trying to grow my eyebrows to get full Cara style brows, but because my eyebrows are very light coloured and slightly patchy I use Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow Kit . It has three shades to choose from, I only use the lightest shade to match my hair so it looks as natural as possible. It comes with a two sided brush so its easy to apply and the clear eyebrow mascara is great so they stay within the shape throughout the day. I've used a few eyebrow kits and pencils and this one matches my eyebrows the best and helps me create a fuller set of brows.
mua contour kit
I've found the MUA Conceal and Brighten Contour Kit to work really well to hide my black bags and scars on my face, it does give you coverage and leave you with a bright natural dewy complexion and the shades match well to my light skin, the first shade is to conceal, second to brighten and third to highlight.
