Next, we’re off to France. The moment you step into a patisserie, you’re greeted by the irresistible scent of pastries. Treat yourself to a buttery croissant or a decadent éclair—it's like a little piece of heaven. And let's not ignore the incredible variety of French cheeses out there. If you’re dreaming of a sun-soaked summer vacation in Europe during September, I can't recommend the Mediterranean coastline enough. Starting in the Algarve, you’ll be instantly drawn to the stunning golden cliffs meeting the shoreline in Portugal, with its attractive sandy coves.

Moving east, Spain's Costa Brava is calling out, especially if you love soaking up the sun or snorkelling. The hidden bays and crystal-clear waters are perfect for anyone wanting to uncover the underwater world. There’s something magical about these secluded spots.

Next up is the glitzy French Riviera if you fancy a luxury destination in Europe. Whether you prefer lounging on the scenic beaches of Cannes or soaking in the exclusive vibe of Saint-Tropez, this area is simply star-studded. If you’re after something a bit wilder, Corsica offers gorgeous, lush botanical sights that seamlessly blend with the deep blue sea.

You can’t discuss summer destinations without mentioning Greece. Islands like Mykonos and Santorini are famous for their stunning beaches. If you want a mix of energetic towns and serene hideaways, Crete is a fantastic pick. Take Italy, for instance. If you find yourself in Rome, the Roman Forum is definitely worth your time. Walking through its ancient ruins makes you feel like you’re stepping into a different era. The remnants of temples and basilicas evoke a time when this area was the centre of public life in the Roman Empire.

And then there’s Greece. Visiting Delphi feels like stepping into mythology itself. At the Temple of Apollo, you can’t help but be impressed by the magnificence of the ancient theatre. It’s a space that showcases the ingenuity of classical civilisation. After experiencing the wonders of Delphi, consider visiting Paleros, where the stunning views of the Ionian Sea from the idylic harbour create a perfect backdrop for relaxation.

If your travels lead you north to England, don’t miss the Tower of London. Its history as a royal stronghold that later became a notorious prison tells us so much about power and intrigue in British history. Over in France, the Palace of Versailles is a sight to behold. The lavish rooms and sprawling gardens reflect the opulence of royal life just before the tumult of revolution changed everything.

Meanwhile, Prague attracts visitors with the stunning Charles Bridge, which is lined with baroque statues and offers wonderful city views as it connects the Old Town to the impressive Prague Castle. In addition, Romania is a favourite of mine, with the medieval fascination of Transylvania being a personal highlight. It is dotted with amazing castles and the breathtaking Carpathian Mountains.
