Burt's Bees Lipsticks
Burts Bees have 18 fabulous new lipstick shades, from pink, corals, nudes, reds and berries!
To celebrate the launch of eighteen new faboulous shades of lipsticks, Burts Bees invited me to be a part of their launch in the Bullring, Birmingham by attending a meet and greet. This was the first time I've ever done a meet and greet so I am so chuffed of those of you and fellow Birmingham bloggers who popped down to see me and to check out the Burts Bees stand.
Burts Bees had a 'magic mirror' where you could try on all eighteen vibrant shades digitally, which was really fun (see more photos from the event on my Facebook page here). Once you picked out your favourite digital shade, we got to try it on for real and take the shade home.
Before the event, Burts Bees sent me all eighteen shades, which was amazing. My two favourite red shades are 'Russet River 532' and 'Scarlet Soaked 520', I've worn these almost every day since receiving the package. My favourites from the nudes are 'Blush Basin 501', 'Doused Rose 513' from the pinks and 'Wine wave 524' from the berries.
The lipsticks are 100% natural and contain moisturising ingredients such as moringa and raspberry seed oils to help soften and condition the lips.
Most lipsticks can be very drying to the lips, but I find that the Burts Bees lipsticks are just like lip balms but with a more vibrant colour and so makes the lips feel lovely and moisturised. They claim to stay put for 8 hours, however, I have found myself reapplying after 2-3 hours as they do go patchy especially when eating and drinking.
- PROS: They glide on well, hydrate the lips and provide a highly pigmented colour. Plus, the clever packaging also makes it easy to pick out the shade. 100% Natural.
- CONS: Will need to be re-applied throughout the day as they do fade.
The Burts Bees website provides a little beauty science fact which I found really interesting. Scientific studies have shown that 60% of the ingredients from our beauty products are absorbed by the skin. So it's worrying to think what those non-natural ingredients found in a lot of our beauty products are doing to our skin - which is our largest organ! So from now on I'm going to try and use more natural ingrediants!
