Lancome - Cushion Blush Subtil - Swatches & Review

The Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil gives cheeks a healthy glow

Cushion cosmetics are rising in popularity after first being introduced by the Korean beauty industry. They are becoming a 'thing' and Lancome was kind enough to send me their Cushion Blush Subtil to try out so I could see what all the fuss is about. They sent me shades 031 - splash orange and 02 - rose lemonade.

Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil, a healthy glow booster with a playful design combined with easy use. Based on the Air Cushion technology, its smooth, light and melt-away texture gives dazzling radiance to the face.

Firstly I was really impressed with the chunky packaging, inside the cute silver box you'll find two lids, the first lid houses a compact mirror with an applicator sponge and then inside the second lid, you'll find the creamy cushion blush. As cushion cosmetics usually have a shelf life of 6 months or so, Lancome has done a great job at making sure the cushion will be kept fresh. When you first come to use it you will have to peel off a sticker to reveal the cushion blush, it's super sticky so just re-apply it after every use and keep the lid closed so you shouldn't have the worry of it drying out anytime soon.

The Cushion Blush is creamy and a little goes a long way. The first swatch photo shows the amount of colour I got from just one dip in the sponge using my finger. The second swatch photo shows what the blusher looks like after being blended with minimum effort. The lightweight fluid consistency glides onto the skin easily and has a lovely dewy finish. Both 031 - splash orange and 02 - rose lemonade looks like lovely shades and is quite pigmented. It's been awhile since I have worn blusher, as I always just opt to have my cheeks contoured with a light tan shade, but I will be adding the rose lemonade shade to my make-up routine, to add a natural healthy looking tint to my cheeks.

The negatives of using cushion makeup are that they can be a breeding ground for bacteria, so always make sure the lid is closed as soon as you finish applying and regularly clean your brushes/applicator.
