So, to help you source some of the best brands on the market that formulate effective skincare that is both suitable for vegans and cruelty-free. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favourite beauty brands.
From the affordable to the slightly more luxurious, there’s sure to be a beauty brand on this list that will be suitable to add to your kinder skincare regime.
1. The Ordinary
Sian Victoria © - The Ordinary
Known for its reputation as an affordable yet highly effective skincare brand. The Ordinary formulates dermatologically tested products, infused with ingredients scientifically proven to reap the best results.
And each cutting-edge product they launch is 100% vegan and manufactured cruelty-free. An ideal choice for those looking to perfect their skincare routine, this brand has everything from facial serums to peels, toners and cleansers, all specifically catered to your skin type and your skin needs.
It is unlikely, but if this is the first time you’ve heard of this brand, why not indulge in some of their bestselling products? My post on the top-rated Ordinary skincare for acne ageing skin may help get you started in selecting a few products that are most suitable for you.
If you suffer from acne-prone skin, the Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 10% is a carefully formulated serum that harnesses the benefits of vitamins and minerals to clear pore congestion and to create a smooth and even skin texture.
Or, if it’s a product to take away the signs of ageing you’re after, try out the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG to restore that youthful glow. To top it all off, almost every product they have on offer can be bought for under £10 and is sure to become a staple in your skincare routine.
2. Pixi Beauty
Sian Victoria © - Pixi Skintreats
Launched over 20 years ago, Pixi Beauty creates beautiful skincare regimes that will help you enhance your natural beauty. Each product is formulated with only the best botanical ingredients – making it vegan-friendly and very likely to address your skincare needs.
Made entirely cruelty-free and daintily packaged, their extensive range of skincare products are somewhat reasonably priced, meaning you’ll receive effective results without paying extortionate prices.
Their bestselling product, the Pixi Glow Tonic, is a cult favourite amongst many, specifically formulated to target blemishes on the skin and restore the skin’s complexion. Infused with glycolic acid, your skin will be gently exfoliated to remove dead skin cells, while naturally-sourced ginseng and aloe vera soothes and hydrates the skin to ensure a more radiant complexion is achieved – meaning even those with the most sensitive of skin types can enjoy this product.
From toners, face mists and cleansers to face patches, creams and peels. Pixi Beauty utilises the power of organic vitamins and the benefits of plant-derived ingredients to create skincare products that allow you to truly embrace your natural beauty.
3. Novexpert
Sian Victoria © - Novexpert
French cosmetics company Novexpert was founded by researchers and scientists with a shared passion for creating a line of skincare products that stand up to their scientific claims and certify their reputation as a trustworthy skincare brand. Every product is formulated cruelty-free and suitable for vegans, using only the most necessary and effective organic ingredients.
No matter your age or skin type, you can try their innovative creations – as doctors meticulously test each formula before they can be put up for sale. Novexpert’s products couldn’t be safer and more trustworthy. Although their products are of a slightly higher price range than more affordable brands like The Ordinary, the practices of doctors and researchers behind every formula guarantees the expense you pay will be more than worth it.
Just a few of their bestsellers include a skin booster serum infused with hyaluronic acid, proven to tackle blemishes and clear pore congestion and The Repulp Cream to reduce puffiness and signs of ageing by firming the skin’s barrier.
With such an extensive range of products that specifically target areas of the skin. Purchasing skincare from Novexpert should be something you consider when wanting to invest in a brand that’s proven to act upon its claims. They are undoubtedly one of my favourite French cosmetic brands out there.
4. Coola
Sian Victoria © - Coola
While a necessity in hot climates, sunscreens have notoriously been known to contain harmful chemicals that cause breakouts on the skin and, ultimately, irritate. With Coola Skincare, however, this is not the case. Formulated with scientifically tested ingredients, this cruelty-free skincare brand creates products that are effective at fighting against UV rays, but also at maintaining the skin’s health and promoting a clear, hydrated complexion.
Each product’s composition is almost completely organic, meaning most products are vegan, with soothing plant cell extracts like aloe vera infused into the formula to ensure the nourishment of the skin remains a priority. Choose from sunscreen sprays, moisturisers and tanning products that ensure you’ll get the protection of a suntan lotion with the added benefits of taking care of the skin.
Coola has a range of products for skin concerns, with exfoliators, cleansers and creams infused with naturally sourced minerals and vitamins to soothe and hydrate and tackle your skin problems, whether they be signs of ageing, dry texture or blemishes.
When it comes to suncare, Coola is up there as one of the trendiest SPF skincare brands. Not only are their products certified as vegan-friendly, organic and cruelty-free, but they have the bonus of being kind to the skin while protecting against the sun. If you’re going abroad soon, their products are a must-try.
But bear in mind SPF isn’t just for summer beauty essentials. Every skin expert I’ve had the pleasure of talking to has always said using skincare with an SPF for everyday use is essential at tackling premature ageing and skin cancer. Regardless of the sun is in full beam or not.
5. Ren Skincare
Sian Victoria © - Ren Skincare

Their bestselling glow and protect serum utilises antioxidants to even the skin’s complexion and bring radiance, while the beloved brightening dark circle eye cream hydrates the skin while reducing puffiness using plant extracts, to name just a few of the highlights from their effective skincare collection.
Ultimately, Ren Skincare has some of the best sustainability practices when comparing it to its competitors in the industry. Sian Victoria © - Green People face mask & Anti-ageing 24-hour cream
Founded with a desire to make organic skincare products perfect for sensitive skin types by refusing to use unnecessary synthetic ingredients that can be found in many big beauty brands. Green People proves effective skincare can be achieved without applying harmful chemicals to the skin. All of their cruelty-free products use natural, kind to skin ingredients that skip out on parabens, alcohol and fragrance to ensure they are as effective as possible. Only a select few products aren’t suitable for vegans.
From skincare, haircare and bodycare to suncare, makeup and products safe for babies. Green People caters for everyone regardless of age or gender. They are particularly suitable for consumers with sensitive skin that’s prone to irritation. The brand has products carefully formulated for eczema, psoriasis and rosacea, created naturally with soothing essential oils and nourishing organic ingredients.
From dealing with signs of ageing and hyperpigmentation to oily, sensitive or acne-prone skin, Green People is sure to have formulated a product that will target your concerns. If your skin is particularly sensitive to beauty products, I’d recommend trying out Green People skincare.
The Purifying Face Mask and Anti-ageing 24-hour cream are the most recent additions added to my skincare regime. In the mask Activated Charcoal and Bentonite Clay work in synergy together to draw toxins out of the pores while Alpine Willow balances oil production to discourage acne bacteria and Moisturising Oat Lipid helps to encourage skin softness with it being high in ceramides.
Meanwhile, the 24-hour cream rich in organic plant oils such as Rosemary and Green Tea is packed with vitamins A, D & E, Omega-3&6 fatty acids, minerals and essential nutrients that help to support skin health with the addition of Phyto-active Baicalin, proven to actively reduce wrinkles.
I recommend unclogging the pores with the weekly face mask before using the daily anti-ageing cream, this helps the vitamins and minerals to be absorbed more efficiently by the skin to encourage more noticeable results.

Sian Victoria © - The Body Shop Superfood face masks
Recognisable high street chain The Body Shop is a perfect place to shop for ethical beauty products. Starting as a British company that is now known globally for its cutting-edge creations, The Body Shop proves sustainable and clean beauty can be made affordable.

One of their bestselling skincare range’s is the Tea Tree Oil skincare line, where acne treatments, cleansers, lotions and masks are formulated with the naturally sourced essential oil to tackle blemishes without irritation. As is often the case with harsh chemicals.
I’ve been using The Body Shop beauty products for years so you can read my Tea Tree Oil skincare regime review if this range sounds perfect for you.
Their range is unbelievably extensive, with avocado, camomile, vitamin c and shea butter to name just a few of the most popular skincare lines. They also have a Community Fair Trade program to support not only your skin needs but less fortunate communities across the world with their products, only solidifying The Body Shop as a great sustainable beauty company even further.
13. Dermalogica
Sian Victoria © - Dermalogica Skincare
When it comes to skincare, using products that are proven to act upon their claims is one of the most important things. And, with Dermalogica, they do just that.
Founded by a skin therapist, this skincare brand formulates products that undertake a series of scientific and dermatological research and testing before appearing on shelves to certify their status as some of the most cutting-edge, professional skincare products on the market. Which explains why most beauty clinics & spas endorse them. It was thanks to a deep cleansing facial treatment that I first began using Dermalogica.
Not only can you feel confident in using this brand knowing it's backed by professionals in the field, but you can feel confident in Dermalogica’s ethical practices, too. No product is tested on animals, and formulas are created as clean and natural as possible, skipping out on harmful parabens and fragrances.
Most products are vegan-friendly, too. Their range of products couldn’t be more extensive, catering to skin concerns common with certain ages and perhaps more niche areas such as menopausal skin, proving they have something for everyone.
Whether it’s a breakout, signs of ageing, uneven skin or dryness you’re dealing with. Dermalogica have you covered. With a team of professionals behind every formulation, you can guarantee you will be receiving optimum quality skincare when buying from this brand.
This does mean their products sit on the slightly more luxury end, but as they are so effective and recommended by industry experts, this is justified.
14. Nip + Fab
Sian Victoria © - Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads
Vegan and cruelty-free brand Nip + fab specialise in formulating skincare and beauty products that are truly innovative yet remain affordable for the general consumer. Founded with a desire to create treatments that target any skin concern one may experience, Nip + Fab have gained popularity globally for their creations.
Choose from the spectrum of products Nip + Fab have on offer to select products that will work best for you. For instance, if you want to fight against visible signs of ageing, try out the Vitamin C Fix range, formulated with glycolic and salicylic acid to tighten the elasticity of the skin that can be lost over time and revitalise skin to restore a radiant, youthful complexion.
Or, if your skin type is more sensitive, dry and prone to irritation, Nip + Fab’s Dragon’s Blood Fix is gently formulated with an extract from the Croton Lecheri Tree to maintain the protection of the skin’s barrier while soothing, and infusions of hyaluronic acid to nourish and create a more even skin texture.
This company is sure to have a vegan skincare range that caters to exactly what you need, whether you require something to reduce skin texture, unclog pores or to target pesky dark circles.
Nip + Fab is another great example of a beauty company that proves clean beauty can be achieved without being outrageously expensive, with every product being largely affordable.
15. Environ
Sian Victoria © - Environ Skincare
Combing scientific research and effective formulations, Environ skincare is a cruelty-free beauty brand that focuses on creating products as naturally as possible, with vitamin A infused into every product as the main active ingredient. Recognising its benefits for providing healthy skin by increasing moisture levels, acting as an antioxidant against harmful sun exposure and helping to prevent breakouts.
Environ has used the vitamin as an essential material since the company was founded - and it has incredible results. Something that I can wholeheartedly vouch for if you see my before and after Environ skincare results where I banished hormonal acne.
Not only can you purchase targeted skincare treatments that are categorised in ranges unique to your skin problems - such as the Youth Essentia Range that harness vitamins and peptides to tackle signs of ageing and restore a bright complexion, and the Skin Essentia Range to maintain the skin’s hydration and health – but you can also book an Environ facial.
Using ground-breaking technology, these facial treatments will transform your skin and leave you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed. Find a beauty establishment offering the facials and select a treatment that will work best for you, such as the Electro-sonic DF Technology or the Cool Peel Technology.
When wanting to achieve lasting results, this brand is one to try. The luxury price is entirely justifiable for the noticeably transformative formulations in Environ’s skincare. So, if you’re dealing with a skin concern that doesn’t seem to be shifting, I recommend trying Environ Skincare at Harvey Nichols.
It’s sure to solve your skin concern once and for all. My transformed skin is proof of what can be achieved using Environ. Although the brand is slightly harder to get your hands on hence why I don’t use them regularly now, they are more than worth the effort of finding your local stockist and chatting to an Environ beauty therapist.
16. Hylamide
Sian Victoria © - Hylamide Matte 12 & Transparent Foundation
Sister brand to the beloved The Ordinary and Niod, Hylamide is another ground-breaking skincare company that utilises the latest treatment technologies to deliver noticeable results. Perfect for those who want the effectiveness of The Ordinary but can stretch their budget that bit more, Hylamide’s cutting-edge skincare range is one to indulge in. If it’s sensitivity you’re struggling with, Hylamide’s £15 Booster Sensitive Fix Serum is something I’ve found to work wonders for my skin. Formulated naturally without harmful parabens, alcohol and oil known to irritate, the pH balancing technologies that use plant-derived ingredients target the cause of sensitivity and reduce redness and swelling to rejuvenate the skin.
Whether you have rosacea, eczema or just overly sensitive skin, I’d recommend this effective serum. As every formulation created by this brand is scientifically backed, they will expertly tackle even the most stubborn of skin concerns, with reasonable prices that won’t break the bank.

As seen in my how to get rid of hormonal acne post. I’ve tried their bestselling Refining Vitamin A and Glycolic Cleanser and couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. Its exfoliating properties, infused with kind to skin plant extracts, remove dead skin cells and pore congestion known to cause breakouts while encouraging the growth of new, healthy cells to restore your complexion and transform your skin.

Perhaps their most ground-breaking range of products is their Anti-Pollution range. Sanoflore’s Anti-Pollution range strengthens the skin's barrier to prevent harmful pollutants from irritating the skin while maintaining a radiant and bright, youthful complexion. And, of course, it uses only the most organic, pure ingredients.
