Hylamide - Photography Foundation & Matte 12

MATTE MAKEUP FOR OILY SKIN

Having a shiny complexion can really get me down, and I'll try anything to help reduce that unwanted shine. For the past couple of year's, I have been using blotting papers, applying powder and using any matte beauty products I can get my hands on. So when

Hylamide got in touch and offered me some new complimentary products to try, I couldn't wait to try them out, as a while ago I blogged about the Hylamide Booster Sensitive Fix Serum and was happy with the results. Laura from DECIEM brands and myself discussed what skin problems I would like to treat, so I told Laura how I have oily, sensitive and blemish prone skin and she recommended I give the Hylamide Matte 12 and Photography Foundation ago.

Hylamide -  Matte 12

"12 hour visible oil blocker and pore vanisher"

I'm not one to follow instructions or to even bother reading them for that matter, so my first time using the Hylamide Matte 12 was a disaster. Hands up! my own fault, not the product. The instructions say "if used without makeup, apply as last skincare step. Otherwise, pat gently over the face with fingertips after liquid foundation but before powder." The reason why my first time using the Matte 12 was a disaster, was because I used it before any makeup, so when I applied foundation it all just rubbed off in bits and I had to wash my face and start all over again.

So when I realised where I went wrong I gave the Matte 12 another go and I'm so glad I did as it feels so lovely on the skin and has reduced the appearance of shine. The consistency of the product is thick, yet lightweight and leaves a soft velvety feel on the skin. It slightly smooths over my pores to make them less noticeable also.

Hylamide - Photography Transparent Foundation

Yes, you guessed it. The first time I used the Matte 12 I also used the Hylamide Photography Foundation. The photography foundation contains "fractionated silica complex and prismatic hue correctors so you look better in photos". It claims to visibly target fine lines, colour imbalance, immediate surface correction and textural irregularities. The cool thing about this product is that it can be applied under, over or mixed with your own foundation. I prefer to mix it with my own foundation. I have noticed my makeup looking much better since using this. If you follow me on Instagram, you will know I'm not much of a selfie taker, however on my most recent selfie I am wearing the transparent foundation and I am happy with how the selfie looks, which makes a change :). The photography foundation also comes in transparent, golden tan and dark tan.
