Looking back on 2015
My most personal post yet
2015 has been my most memorable year yet and I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had. Since a young age I have kept a bucket list of all the things I wanted to see and do, and 2015 was where I got to finally start ticking them off.
Since 2010 I had been running an online vintage store, I had zero free time to go on holiday or to take time off to simply relax, it was very hectic managing all aspects of the business myself, so after 4.5 years of none stop work, I decided to let it go and take a jump and go back into full time education to start a university course, which I was originally going to do after completing college in 2010. Running my own business is something I have always wanted to do and I loved it, but after four years of barely seeing daylight and working extremely long hours 7 days a week, I began to fall out of love with it as my health started to depreciate.
Going from business owner to mature student was difficult for me, but its a step I am glad I took. Although I am still working around the clock now to get the very best grades at uni and running this blog, if I hadn't of taken the jump I would have never experienced the amazing summer I just had, as the four previous summers I was reworking stock for people to wear at festivals all over the world, so I never got to enjoy the summer for myself.
So 2015 was were I finally got to make up for it, my summer started off with a week in Ibiza, after that I traveled America where I ticked a few bucket list things off. I went to see the bright lights of Las Vegas and watched the iconic Bellagio fountains, walked the Hollywood walk of Fame in California and ran around Santa Monica beach as the sun went down. We then went to Arizona and visited Seligman, the birthplace of Route 66 which was amazing I was like a kid in a candy store, I loved how retro the place was, it was like being in a 50's movie, it was out of this world. To make our American adventure complete, we went to the Grand Canyon and took in the breathtaking views and natural beauty of the place.
Within days of coming back from America, I booked a last minute 2 week holiday to Spain, we visited Barcelona and checked out Gaudi's amazing architecture and then hiked the beautiful Monsterrat Mountains. Shortly after coming back home to reality, I got to attend London Fashion Week which finished off the summer perfectly before starting my 2nd year at University.
In 2016, I intend on improving the content of this blog to provide you with more enjoyable content to read, and I have already made some improvements to how the blog looks which I am really happy with, so I hope you guys like it too. This has got to be my most open and personal post I have ever written for the blog, so you may see more posts like this in the future.
My new years resolutions have been the same every year, but by running a busy retail business by myself I always failed to carry them out, but this year I am going to do my very best. My resolutions are to travel more, eat healthier and live every day to its fullest, so hopefully this year you can expect to see more travel posts during the summer, healthy food recipes and fun lifestyle posts.
Thank you so much for reading my very long and personal post, and I wish you a happy healthy new year full of happiness.
