Merumaya - Mud Marvels Mask

Activated Charcoal mask

Charcoal face masks are a beauty product I have been a fan of for awhile now, so when Merumaya kindly asked if I wanted to try out their Mud Marvels Mask I soon said yes. The mask contains activated charcoal which works by acting as a magnet and washing away any dirt and oil clogged in pores.

I prefer charcoal face masks compared to using charcoal face washes and other charcoal products, because the longer charcoal is left on the skin the more success your going to have pulling out all the dirt and oil from pores, that's why face masks are perfect to use for 15 minutes 1-2 times a week to unblock pores by drawing out impurities.

The mask is dark grey and has a smooth velvety feel. Before applying the mask I make sure my face is clean and dry. The application is easy at it smooths onto the face without any mess. I try to apply it evenly ensuring my t-zone where I am more prone to clogged pores is fully covered, I then leave it on for 15 minutes and wash away with a cleansing cloth and water.

It leaves my skin feeling, soft, radiant and very clean. After a summer of travelling I have came back with a few blackheads on my nose which I think using a lot of sun cream has done, but now they appear to have faded a lot so I am going to carry on using the mask regularly to stay on top of it.

The mask contains natural ALPHA hydroxy acids which are beneficial in treating blemish prone skin, so this may be why I have not had a breakout after using it. With previous charcoal masks I have used in the past I always get a breakout after using them, so this factor alone has made this product far more appealing to me as getting a breakout after using a mask is the last thing I want. The Merumaya Mud Marvels Mask is available to buy from John Lewis.
